Hamble Fire Station

As Hamble Village Playschool is only across the road from Hamble Fire Station, the fire team often kindly give up some time to enable visits to the station. The children (and staff!) have a truly hands-on experience and are able to explore the fire engines and even try on the uniforms.

Canine Partners

Hamble Village Pre-school collects postage stamps to help Canine Partners. Based in East Sussex, this invaluable charity works will volunteers to train puppies to partner people with severe disabilities. 

To support this worthwhile cause, please save all of your postage stamps a shows that children are calmer and more relaxed around passive and affectionate dogs like Balgie enabling them to develop their confidence, their communication skills, their self esteem and their motivation in school. 

Pets as Therapy

Meet Balgie who was a regular Pets as Therapy visitor to the pre-school, until he sadly passed away in 2018. He gave the children many opportunities to cuddle, talk and read with him. They also loved drawing him pictures to stick into his special scrap book!
